East Arican Industrialization Policy

The EAC Industrialisation Policy is intended to address the challenges facing the region in building a more diversified regional economic structure. The policy is aligned to the relevant articles of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community, in particular articles 79 and 80 as well as article 44 of the Common Market Protocol.

The policy outlines 14 strategic measures that will guide the region towards the attainment of the broad policy objectives including, among others includes: Increasing access to markets, Strengthening National and Regional institutional frameworks and capabilities for industrial policy design and implementation, Strengthening the business and regulatory climate, Enhancing access to finance, Facilitating the development of micro, small and medium enterprises, Strengthening industrial information management and dissemination systems, Equitable development, Promoting research, development and innovation.
